This morning we started out with an hour drive (29 miles) to Glacier Point. It is awesome and beautiful and incredible. When we get somewhere with good wi-fi I will post more pictures.
Here is the family with Half Dome in the background. It looks different from this height than it does from the valley.
We were overlooking Yosemite Valley and could see where we were yesterday.
In the background behind Marty & Eddie are what is called The Royal Arches. The granite broke along the grain to create what looks like arches. Eddie is blocking your view, but it was neat.
After lunch, Marty, Eddie, & Mark went on a strenuous hike to another giant sequoia grove. Charlie & I opted out of the strenuous hike. We went to the Wawona Pioneer site near our hotel. Below is an exhibit about the home of the resident artist at Wawona from 1890-1908.
Here we are at a mountaineer’s cabin.
Charlie pumped water from this old pump.
This was the powder shed and jail, but it wasn’t very effective as a jail.
Here are pictures from the strenuous hike.
