Goodbye house and family!
We started our day with a visit to the car wash.
Then we had a 150 mile trip to Roswell and the International UFO Museum.
The UFO museum was a funny mix of corny alien things and research into the Roswell crash incident in 1947.
Everything in Roswell had aliens—lampposts, coke machines, KFC, etc.
Then we had a 190 mile drive to Santa Fe through some very lonely country. We drove 94 miles from Roswell before we came to another town—not even a service station in all that road! It started raining about 10 miles out of Santa Fe and the temperature dropped 25 degrees, so when we got to our hotel it was chilly and raining lightly. The hotel is still picturesque.
Our room is nice and has 3 beds which will be handy, since Mark is joining us tonight! We are all looking forward to seeing him.
The hotel is quirky and has neat little touches everywhere.
The outdoor hot tub was closed due to the weather, but it sure is nice.
Here is a courtyard outside our room.
And a cute little path to get to the other parts of the hotel grounds.
