The weather was particularly lovely—in the 60’s and sunny. The blue sky made a nice backdrop for the ruins.
We were in the lower level of a church. It had been built on a temple, but then it became buried so they built a church on top, you can see the big window where the ‘new’ church is. The statues are from the temple that the original church took over.
You can still see some of the frescoes. Amazing!
Here is a detail from the Arch of Titus. You can tell it’s about Jerusalem because of the menorah.
They built part of the floor to show what it would have looked like. There were amazing things under the floor in order to wow the audience with ‘magic.’
Alexander’s family takes pictures of the kids in different generations in this very spot. Alexander wanted our kids to recreate it and then bring their kids to get their pictures taken. Eddie slouched down and Marty stood very straight so they would get height and age order.

We went home after lunch for a reposo (nap) and then had pizza for dinner while we figured out the Mass plans for Sunday.
