January 15

We all slept in. Which was totally needed. Then our family got ready and went to the Rome zoo. Mom & Dad did not go. Why? you ask. Of course the zoo in Rome is on everyone’s top 3 must-see sights. Or not. But it was on Marty’s list, so off we went. It was a long walk up a hill, but we finally made it. There was hardly anyone at the zoo, but it was sunny and about 55 degrees, so it was a pleasant day.

There were no concessions open in the zoo, so we were starving when we got out at 2. Luckily, there was a snack shop right outside the zoo where we wolfed down sandwhiches. Then we walked the long way back down the hill and decided to stop at Santa Maria dei Populo. It was right next to the metro. Look up the story about this church. It has 2 Carravagio’s—Marty took a picture of the conversion of Saul.
