Jan 4 was Sr. Maria Pio’s birthday. We celebrated by going to the Tower of London. Above: Charlie at the monument where they did most of the executions. Below: SMP & Marty in front of Tower Bridge (not London Bridge).
Eddie in front of The Gherkin, which is the nickname for the building in the back for obvious reasons.
The White Tower which was a palace for the kings & queens for a while.
The crown jewels really were amazing. No pictures inside, of course. Lots and lots of “sparkles” as one dad called them. I called them “diamonds.”
Marty finds Ravens wherever he goes!
St. Paul’s cathedral. We attended Evensong. Very restful. Except for the 2-year-old trying out the acoustics and his 4-year-old sister shushing him louder than his “AAAH”
On to Marty’s pictures. Tower from the outside.
Our Yoeman Warder tour guide. I think his name was Bob. He was a 36-year veteran of the military and a funny guide.
Fish & chips. Of course.
“Anyone up for a fast game of Euchre?” Guess who said that a lot this trip. He was disappointed a lot too. Especially after SMP left. Poor Dad.
