Sweet Home Alabama

It was raining as we were getting ready this morning. And then I looked out and:

saw this lovely rainbow above the Louisiana Super Dome. What a nice way to start the day.

We drove through Mississippi to Alabama today. We stopped at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville AL to visit a friend from Catonsville who is now Sr. Mary Pascal of the Lamb of God in the Poor Clares that Mother Angelica is superior of. The Shrine is beautiful (pictures below) and so is Sr. Pascal. She is cloistered, so we had the experience of meeting her in a parlor with a grill in the middle. The boys thought that was cool. It was nice to catch up with her.

We wished we had more time in the gift shop, but had to hurry to our meeting with her, and it closed before we were done. It was pretty amazing.

From the steps of the church. It was a lovely setting for a lovely church.
