Seguin, TX

The shade sure felt good! The heat is killing us. The highs have been 94ish and very humid! But the sun is soooo hot.

Here is the monument to Juan Seguin.

Seguin is named after Juan Seguin who was a major fighter in the Texas war for independence. He was the last messanger out of the Alamo when they realized they could not hold the fort. He let the settlers on the Guadalupe River know. Thus, he is called the "Paul Revere of Texas." He fought in all the major battles in the TX war and went on to be very involved in Texas politics.
