400 miles driven today. Through a whole lot of nothing.
There was a cattle jam, but the cowboy and cowgirl opened up a lane for us.
We stopped at the Crazy Horse Memorial which has been being worked on for 65 years and has a long way to go. You can see his face and his arm reaching out. It’s way, way bigger than Mount Rushmore. Plus, it’s totally funded by private funds.
Here is the 1/37th size model (below).
The museum had a lot of Native American artifacts.
Then, 20 minutes to Mount Rushmore which was amazing, but the sun was in our eyes.
After we got to our hotel—the Big Sky Inn, in Rapid City, we saw this rainbow! Major thunderstorm in the middle of the night. So glad we weren’t camping!
