It took us a while, but we made it the 50 miles from Mammoth to Old Faithful. There is road construction between the two, so there were some delays. No bear, bison, or elk jams today, though.
Below we are walking around the Old Faithful Geyser basin before Old Faithful was due to go off.
We thought it was amazing that you can go from crazy-looking thermal features to gorgeous natural forest and meadows in the blink of an eye.
This may have been white cone geyser. We lucked out into getting to it right before it erupted.
Below is Old Faithful. Very impressive. Lots and lots of people were there.
After Old Faithful, we continued around the southern loop to Lake Village where we spent two nights.
