Well, both Charlie and Gabe have strep and are on antibiotics. The other children are under strict orders to immediately report sore throat, fever or other malaise.
The nurses at the urgent care center said Charlie was the best strep positive patient they’d ever had. He was his usual charming self and totally cooperative even with the throat culture. In fact, the doctor had made up his mind that the culture would be negative after seeing Charlie. Luckily, they did the culture anyway! Doc was quite surprised.
Turns out that 2 of M&M’s children also tested positive for strep on the rapid test even though they did not have symptoms. So the whole family is being treated for a colonization. We’ve been trying to come up with the ending of this phrase, “The family that takes antibiotics together…” Let me know if you have any suggestions.
So Day 38 was spent going to doctor’s offices and pharmacies and taking care of sick kids. Not what Pam & I had planned for fun. We did watch a romantic comedy in the evening and we have hopes for better days. My big kids watched Dr. Who with their sick cousin. Now they are hooked!
Pam, Audrey & I went to 5pm Mass so someone could stay home with the sickies who are still on quarantine until Monday. Also, one of us needs to go over and babysit Monica and the kids while Michael goes to Mass on Sunday.
