We signed up for Park Quest this summer. Park Quest is with Maryland State Parks and it gives us free admission to 24 state parks this summer. At each park we have to complete a quest and we get our passport stamped. Today we went to Assateague State Campground with another family.
The sign as we were driving onto the island. We got a nice picture because traffic was really slow. Some wildlife were in the road.
Give you a hint what it was…
Can you see the ones in the road, peeking out from behind one of the cars?
They moved over enough for us to get by.
It was a great welcome!
Here is the group on the beach where we started our meteorology quest. It was 89 degrees with a light wind. Minor humidity. We saw cumulus clouds.
Next stop: the National Park Visitor’s Center where the touching aquarium was much more interesting to photograph than the video on lightning or the barometer we saw for the quest.
Third and last stop: top of the bridge from the mainland to the island. Much windier, but about the same temperature. Lots to see.
After we finished the quest, we changed for some time in the waves!
Hurricane Mark showing what storm surge can do to your ‘castle’ on the beach.
