Today we dropped Marty off at JHU campus where he’ll be taking Fast-Paced High School Biology for the next 3 weeks. He is excited and a bit nervous. So are his parents. Everything went well, but I forgot the camera and Mark had to leave to take Eddie to registration for his CTY class at a different location. So, we only have 1 picture from Mark’s phone before we set up the room.
His roommate and suitemates are in the same class and seem like friendly young men. One is from Richmond, VA and one is from NYC. We didn’t find out where the last one is from.
College dorms are a lot different than when I was living in them. Electronic card to get into the dorm, and to get into the elevators or stairs, and to get into the hallway. Regular key for the door. Wow!
They have 6 hours of class, including 2 hours of lab, a day M-F. They will be dissecting a rat and a sea star and maybe a crayfish. So fun!
Can’t wait to hear from him. He’s allowed to call us in his 45 minutes of free time at night, or before they go to breakfast. But, we did not encourage him to call us a lot. So, we’ll see.
