Today we went to DC to the Museum of Women in Art to see the exhibit “Picturing Mary.” It was really interesting. Many paintings, statues, embroidered vestments, triptychs, wood cuts, sketches. Most from 1300-1650. Some very beautiful ones and some nice ones—like the one of Mary tickling Jesus and they’re both laughing. Only one image—the Madonna of the Book—did I recognize.

The museum was very gorgeous. Apparently it was formerly a Masonic temple.
